I was formed as a dancer and later on as a teacher at Vaganova Ballet Academy, in St-Petersburg. I have also studied at Rudra Bejart Ballet and had the honor to work with Maurice Bejart. Later on I’ve met and performed in works by Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Örjan Andersson, Paul Lightfoot and Saul Leon, Tim Rushton, Itzik Galili, Cathy Marston and other wonderful choreographers while working at Netherlands Dance Theatre 2, Danish Dance Theatre and freelancing. As a teacher I am influenced by great masters like Irina Chistiakova, Laura Bernasconi, Kevin Cregan, Yannick Sempey, Amy Raymond, Allyson Way and many others. I also like to apply methods of William Forsythe and principles from Gaga.
Keeping the general structure of a ballet class I focus on body
placement: neutral position of the pelvis, active shoulder blades,
coordination of the arms, freedom in the hip joints ect . And I also
like to pay attention to musicality and dynamics to help achieve
better results in the center and in jumps, also to fully enjoy the
flow of the class.
