Arina Trostyanetskaja

I was formed as a dancer and later on as a teacher at Vaganova Ballet Academy, in St-Petersburg. I have also studied at Rudra Bejart Ballet and had the honor to work with Maurice Bejart. Later on I’ve met and performed in works by Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Örjan Andersson, Paul Lightfoot and Saul Leon, Tim Rushton, Itzik Galili, Cathy Marston and other wonderful choreographers while working at Netherlands Dance Theatre 2, Danish Dance Theatre and freelancing. As a teacher I am influenced by great masters like Irina Chistiakova, Laura Bernasconi, Kevin Cregan, Yannick Sempey, Amy Raymond, Allyson Way and many others. I also like to apply methods of William Forsythe and principles from Gaga.

I like to give a dynamic class that is suitable for dancers with different backgrounds. I find important taking time for strengthening, and mobilizing exercises but rather blended into the flow of the class.
I emphasize musicality and dynamics as well as widening the qualities vocabulary. Choreographic phrase in the end of the class should help the dancers to test new technical and creative ideas.
